Satin Black Buteo Deluxe

$3,950.00

This meticulously hand-built Doubleday Buteo Deluxe takes the familiar Buteo platform in a more refined and distinctive direction. The lightweight Paulownia body is finished in our satin “Kevlar” varnish, giving the guitar a beautifully understated appearance and a smooth, natural feel in the hands. At just 5 lbs 7 oz, it offers exceptional comfort without sacrificing the lively response and resonance that define the Buteo.

The Buteo Deluxe features a pair of Doubleday hand-wound Dynasonic-style pickups, delivering a broad, articulate voice with plenty of character and dynamic response. The simple control layout keeps things direct, with one volume, one tone, and a three-way pickup selector. A black pearloid pickguard and gold hardware add a subtle touch of elegance, while the Halon JM-style vibrato brings expressive tremolo capability to the classic-inspired design.

The neck is crafted from a single piece of beautifully figured Maple and features a larger headstock for a distinctive visual presence. A comfortable C-profile, 12” fretboard radius, and modern-size stainless steel frets provide a smooth, familiar playing feel with the durability and precision of modern fretwire. The neck is finished in satin nitrocellulose lacquer, allowing the natural character of the figured Maple to remain prominent while providing a fast, comfortable feel.

From the figured one-piece Maple neck and satin “Kevlar” finish to the gold hardware, black pearloid guard, and Dynasonic-style pickups, the Buteo Deluxe brings together vintage-inspired character and modern refinements in a uniquely Doubleday package.
