Amber Burst Burl Broadwing Custom

$4,500.00

This Doubleday Broadwing Custom pairs dramatic burl maple on both the top and back with a roasted paulownia body core, delivering striking visual depth while keeping the instrument exceptionally lightweight at just 6 lbs 14 oz. The tonal balance is lively, resonant, and responsive—acoustic in character with immediate attack and bloom.

The neck is carved from beautifully figured maple and finished in nitrocellulose lacquer for a smooth, broken-in feel. It features a Madagascar rosewood fretboard with a 12” radius, modern stainless steel fretwire, and a comfortable C profile that feels substantial without excess. The stainless frets provide effortless bending and long-term durability while maintaining clarity and snap.

Electronics are fully hand-wound in-house, as with every Doubleday instrument. This Broadwing is configured with a Nashville-style setup, featuring a middle Strat-style pickup and 5-way switching for expanded versatility, alongside a Certano G & B Palm Bender system for expressive pitch control. From traditional Broadwing tones to glassy in-between positions and pedal-steel-inspired bends, this instrument covers remarkable ground without compromising its core voice.

Every Doubleday pickup is hand-wound and wired with vintage-style cloth pushback wire for clarity, depth, and dynamic response.

Like all Doubleday guitars, this Broadwing is 100% authentically hand-built in Austin, Texas, crafted entirely by hand without the use of CNC machines. Built with premium tonewoods, precision craftsmanship, and an uncompromising attention to detail, it represents the highest standard of boutique American guitar building.
