Serial #104 is a fully handmade Doubleday Broadwing built for feel, tone, and presence — weighing in at 7 lb 13.5 oz. The swamp ash body provides a resonant, punchy foundation, finished in a heavily aged Metallic Red Paisleynitrocellulose lacquer. This finish has been intentionally aged to replicate the chipping and wear of the early paisley Broadwing models, and it will continue to chip over time, adding to the character of the guitar. An aged cream pickguard and aged knurled dome knobs complete the look.
The neck is quartersawn figured roasted hard maple in a Modern C profile, paired with a Madagascar rosewood fingerboard (9.5” radius) and Jescar 55090 stainless frets for smooth bends and lasting playability. Maple dot inlays and sterling silver side dots provide subtle, classic detail, while a bone nut (1.650”) and Kluson Supreme tuners keep tuning stable and accurate.
Loaded with handwound Doubleday pickups (10.39k A5 T bridge / 8.01k A3 T neck), this Broadwing delivers a wide tonal range, from crisp, articulate cleans to warm, dynamic overdrive. Aged Gotoh “In Tune” bridge and tailpiece and nickel hardware round out a guitar that’s ready to play right out of the case.
